The Hawk and the Tower

A hawk was set free in Archway with a miniature camera on its back.
The view is neither human, nor mechanical, nor animal, but in-between.

In The Hawk and the Tower gravity is no longer the primary force in play.
The modernist towers and empty corridors of Archway shopping mall hover, flip and wobble, destablilized by an unseen eye. The buildings’ and humans’ relationship with the ground is altered. Perspective shifts away from the human, conjuring a transformed and disconcerting city in which humans are no longer the measure of all things.

This film was projected onto the base of the Archway Tower in front of the Archway Library on Thursday 29th November 2007 between 5 and 8pm.
